CHANTRY PRIEST

The New Chantry Priest

Fr Allan Buik, SSC, has a three-fold role. In addition to his GAS responsibilities he will be assisting Fr Philip North at the Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham as the Guild develops closer co-operation with the Shrine. He was also licensed as Priest-in-charge of the ‘C’ parish of Holy Trinity, Hempton with Pudding Norton on Saturday 24th February 2007 by the Bishop of Lynn at a Mass in Hempton celebrated by Bishop Keith.

The Mass was followed by a buffet lunch in the church hall, where the churchwardens welcomed Fr Allan and his guests. In the afternoon Fr Allan gave Benediction in the Guild Chapel before being officially welcomed by members of the Guild and the Shrine staff at tea in the Refectory. Fr Geoffrey Miller, Chantry priest for the past 21 years, was presented with a cheque as a token of the Guild’s appreciation of his ministry.

We offer our congratulations to Fr Allan on his appointment(s) and assure him of our prayers as he prepares for his first pilgrimage season.
